Our Therapists

Meet Our Team

Our approach here at East Coast Mental Wellness differs in that we let you choose your therapist, giving you the say in who you want to work with. In your initial 15-minute consultation, you will have the opportunity to meet one of our therapists and decide if they are a good fit for you to move forward with. If not, our team will work to reconnect you with a different therapist until you feel comfortable to schedule a consultation and get your therapy journey started. Meet our therapists in-person at our  Providence, RI office and online with our telehealth services

Caitlin is originally from Budd, Lake, New Jersey. She is currently a Resident Assistant and has been for three years. She was able to work with diverse groups of students and gain experience working with a great team. She is also an Ambassador at Johnson & Wales University, and she worked with perspective students and families on a daily basis. She has an abundance of experience working with children, adults, teenagers, and little kids. She is new to this type of work and is just super thrilled to get her feet wet and start working with clients! She is passionate about all forms of work and is willing to learn!

Caitlin is extremely interested in learning more about other people and diverse clients. She enjoys helping people become their best selves and change for the better. She believes that everyone is unique in their own way and should be able to express themselves freely without judgement. But a few things about her are that she is extraverted, personable, friendly, and a great listener. She is also always full of energy!

JENNIFER RIOUX SHE/HER/HERS
Location: Providence Office

My name is Jen and I am currently a student in the Master’s Mental Health Counseling program at Johnson in Wales. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education – Mathematics with a minor in Psychology from Rhode Island College. I have four years of experience working with adolescents in the field of education, and I look forward to transferring some of these skills to counseling for all ages. I believe the foundation of therapy is based on an empathic, authentic, and collaborative relationship. With this support, it is possible to maneuver the challenges that come with experiencing life and to live your truest self. My hope as a counselor is to give the opportunity of growth and hope to others who may feel stuck, unhappy, hurt, etc.
In my free time I enjoy playing sports, reading, and spending time with the people and pets that I love.”.

ALICIA LANE SHE/HER/HERS
I am a current graduate student at Johnson & Wales Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I received my bachelor’s degree in fine arts from RISD in 2011, and have worked in film for the last fifteen years.

Working collaboratively with people and their stories as a filmmaker is what drew me to the field of mental health. I believe in the power of our own stories, experiences and perspectives to help us identify strengths and work through our problems. Personal areas of interest include helping clients navigate relationships, life transitions, grief, depression, identity issues, substance use, mood disorders, LGBTQIA+ issues and trans affirming care

RACHEL PLAYE SHE/THEY
Location: Providence Office

Her favorite areas of study are somatic, gestalt, CBT, existential, and feminist theory. As your counselor, Rachel will hold space for you and employ active and empathetic listening. She believes all people are capable of healing and strengthening their resilience. When not working with clients or pursuing her studies, Rachel can be found out in her garden or hiking.
